This blend has long been a crowd favourite thanks to its comforting chocolate-nutty character and naturally low acidity. As the boldest espresso roast in the Dutch Colony Coffee Co. lineup, the Colonial blend goes past the second crack with an extended development time of about 2 minutes 45 seconds creating a deeper, richer profile without harshness.

Carefully sourced from rotating Brazilian and Indian farms depending on seasonal harvests, the beans are roasted with intention to deliver a smooth yet assertive “dark roast” cup. Expect a clean boldness with subtle raisin sweetness and warm brown-spice undertones. It shines beautifully in milk-based drinks, but still punches through elegantly as a straight espresso or Americano.

Although you won’t find this blend on our retail shelves, it remains one of the most requested offerings among our wholesale partners many of whom keep returning for its consistent strength, richness, and reliability.
